Dunno if anybody else has responded to Ray's inquiry (having some
'delivery' issues, lately), but, briefly, the Texans were a sub-
(VERY-"sub"-) model Coronet, made in 56 -58, (& possibly 1959) which had
minimal Texan-specific trim. But, for the 57 model, on the fenders was
just the word: "Custom" (using the 'Custom' nameplate, from the CRL's ;
a 'cute-touch') , & on the fins, & on the glove box was the 'specific'
nameplate : "Texan", which had the "T" being located inside the
state-shape, & the letters "exan" extending beyond the 'state' (also
kinda a neat variation, on the OEM "Lance-and-Spear" motif.
In 58, the entire word "Texan" was formed inside the state-shape, AND,
there was only one (outside, anyway) emblem, per car, installed on the
trunk.
As far as I know, it WAS possible/conceivable to 'get' a Texan
convertible, as they were 'glorified' Coros, but I've never seen one.
