One caveat, I have been told that the reason many house mirrors, as in the bathroom, start turning black around the edges is that the ammonia in Windex reacts with the silver in the mirror plating. That being the case, I have been careful not to use Windex or other ammonia cleaners on my car mirrors.

Also, I learned first hand in the '70s that Armor All would quickly remove the flash chrome on the dash and trim of my RR, leaving it splotchy with the black plastic showing.
