Dawn is almost TOO good.

The Viper Club heartily endorses Dawn , for REMOVING wax build-up, on
Corvettes (NAH; of COURSE, on Vipers!) , before applying Zaino-brand
paint-finish/polishing products
onto the 'now-pure', pristine  paintwork.

So, unless you are TRYING to remove your car's polish/finish, go VERY
easy on the dawn
formulation, in your wash-bucket.

Dawn won't hurt the paint; it will just super-clean the car, "down" to
the paint-surface.

I wash my car with hose-water; it doesn't get very dirty.

Any decent dishwashing liquid soap makes for a great hand-wash, for
grease-removal; amazing how that nastiness can just melt-away, from your
hands.
