Re: [FWDLK] FW: [FWDLK] Future of Chrysler Group?

I have received 20 mpg, frequently, when driving my 94 Grand Laredo (full-time 4WD)
on the interstate at 65 mph. My overall mileage is 15.6 according to the on-board computer.
I wish people would stop the sweeping generalities when they bash SUV's and realize the
vehicles are not all bad.  Remember that the next time you need rescued in the snow.
If I was in LA, I would question having the need for 4WD.  I am in rural southern Ohio,
with snow, ice, and not much of a road crew to prepare the roads compared with the
more wealthy, northern Ohio areas.  It is almost a necessity to have the capability. The
vehicle will really haul a$$, too.

I get 9 city/12 highway in my 2004 Ram 2500 with the 5.7-liter HEMI 5-speed manual.

I have a 2001 Durango with about 65,000 miles on it and I'm getting 17 mpg on the highway

I do not know what engine John has in his Durango but the 5.7 L Hemi with the MDS will definitely give 20 mph on the highway. In fact the last time I cruised in Pennsylvania I went real easy, like 65 mph, not my usual 75-80 and got 21for a tank.
