For the record the 56 Dodge Dual Quad Manifold WAS aluminum, it was cast for Dodge by Mercury Outboard after attempts to cast it at Dodge in iron proved very difficult and time was running out for a NASCAR approval at Daytona. The iron manifold was attempting to include a heat passage and the Dodge ports are spaced very close together, as it is the aluminum intake uses allen headed bolts as the regular intake bolts heads are to large to turn near the ports and elininates the heat passage. Another note, since aluminum absorbs heat faster than iron the heat passage could be eliminated with less cold engine drivability problems. Tim in Golden 56 D500-1 Custom Royal Lancer
