Re: [FWDLK] canister old filter

Only $399.95 (plus freight) for one oil filter, already rusty on the end plate from damp storage.  I wonder what you would have to pay for one that was actually fit to install on a running engine.

Get rid of it and go for the conversion, and save your mind!!!
They sell them and are very nice to deal with....
But have you seen this oil filter??? looks like a good one!

Group,

What is the trick to this?   I changed the oil and filter on my car this afternoon and had a terrible time of it.    The new filter came with a rubber gasket to be used on the bottom of the canister.   How do you get this very large rubber gasket to seal correctly (much less line up)?  As a result, I have a large puddle of oil to clean up and a problem to solve.   Assistance please.   P.S.   This might be the final straw to get a converter to the new type oil filters from ?hot heads?.

Thanks,

Greg in WI
