[FWDLK] What was mid-late 50's slang???

WOW, that's a great question; maybe we should ask the graybeards on the
List, but I think, thinking back to 77 Sunset Strip:

there is "hip" ( "I'm hip, to that") , "hipster",
daddie-o (or : daddy-O ) , and "cool" (late 50's, as in cool jazz) and
Kookie (Ed Burns) and I think "way out", and "man", too.

"Far out" was a mid-late 60's invention.
60's had a LOT of slang, but, we're talking 50's here....

Of , course, most hipster slang began with the "beats", which spawned :
beatniks (after 1958's Russian Sputnik satellite) .

Anyone recall any regional 50's slang????

Happy Birthday Neil!!!

You are only as young as you feel. Many happy returns.
Wonder what a hip phrase in 57 would have been??? Maybe "stay cool"?
