Count me in, as an engine-lover; I can see cars with their hoods closed,
all day long.

I also think that a car is much more interesting with its hood open, as
the compartment tells a clear story, about the care and detail that has
gone into the car's maintenance, or into its reconstruction.

A car show venue is usually not condusive to artistic photography,
anyway, and a lot of shows will try to arrange to have the hoods be
closed, prior to the end of the event.

Whenever one of my friends or their families got a new or different car when I was growing up, the first thing we did was open the hood to see what powered the beast, I would be very disappointed to go to a car show and not be able to see the heart of the car, but that's just me, I like engines. I really like the car shows like the Route 66 Rendezvous in San Bernardino, California that allows the cars to cruise around the show with open headers, my wife hates that but it is music to my ears.

Hi all. One thing about local car shows that bugs me - - all the
cars with the hoods open !! I would prefer to see the CAR. Unless
judging is taking place, or the engine is the best part of the car.
  So there. My $.02
