Re: [FWDLK] weird '60 serial number

1960 plant codes -

1 - Lynch Road    (Plymouth)
2 - Hamtramck (Dodge and Valiant)
3 - Jefferson Avenue (DeSoto and Chrysler)
4 - Warren Avenue    (Imperial)
5 - LosAngeles, California (Valiant, Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler)
6 - Newark, Delaware (Plymouth, Dodge)
7 - St.Louis, Missouri  (Valiant, Plymouth, Dodge)
9 - Windsor, Ontario (Valiant, Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler)

These plant numbers woujld be used from 1960 through 1967, with the
following exceptions -
4 - Warren Avenue - 1960-1961
4 - Belvidere, Illinois - 1966-1967
8 - Wyoming Avenue (export) - 1961-1967

BDY - 335
3 - Plymouth V8
3 - Fury
5 - convertble

TRM - DDD
PNT - 121

I think these two are reversed. The "DDD" is the paint - Twilight Blue
Metallic

"121" is the trim code,. which is blue vinyl.

The numbers you list along the top row are for the options on the car. And
they are decoded by lining them up with the letter above them.

I'm running this '60 Fury convertible parts car for a friend of mine and I
happened to look up the serial number in the Krause book - 330118xxxxx -

3=Plymouth V8
3=Fury
0=1960
1= plant code.

This is the problem - this book shows no plant code for #1. But I wonder if
it's in error? It claims the 1960 Detroit plant code is 3, but for 1959 and
1961 it shows it as 1.

The body tag reads in part:
       3             5  3  3(41) ----------- 41 may or may not actually be
there -
       FR   BDY  TRIM PNT
6078S  335  DDD   121

Part of the last line is not legible in my photo. That's everything I can
make out below the line that goes ABCDEFGHIJKLM etc. Anyone know what that
stuff means, besdies that it was blue with blue interior and padded dash?

Thanks

Bill K.
