So, what I am to glean from the thread is that the PF and TF automatics 
were used in racing (oval and drag) in 56-57 because the manuals could 
not handle the strain?   I would think that having a manual in racing 
would be to your advantage.   Why did CK not work this out?    I might 
be all wrong in this and that a manual was used.  What is the story on 
transmissions?
