Re: [FWDLK] '56 D-500 2x4 Air Cleaners

John, the only "factory" dual 4-bbl set up, in 1956, was the D500-1
package, iirc.

Altho anything was possible to order (including a particular 1957 Custom
Royal 2-dr HT, which may have been built with D501 engine & suspension)
the "Super D500" (as it was known from 1957 -1961) dual-carb option,
to the standard single-carb D500 , was not an advertised-option, in
1956.

As dual-carb intakes, and a multitude of various size-jetted WCFB's are
now readily available, people install various air cleaners on them,
including the 1958+ "football" assemblies, which happened to be
installed on that $213K
Barrett Jackson car, a couple years ago.

It may of had just two round air cleaners on it like the '56 Fury with two fours.  I've never seen a D-500 with 2x4bbl on it.  Has anyone or does anyone have one in the garage?  If so, let us know what kind of a/c go on it.

Methinks it would be a "batwing" air cleaner, like all other 56 DQ air cleaners.  Find the distance between the center pins on this Dodge set up and compare with the 300 and Adventurer measurements (they were not the same between the Chrysler and DeSoto) and maybe the Dodge is the same as one of the two ?
