Re: [FWDLK] Bye, Miss Belvedere

Howdy, Neil:

The car's history of ownership is not in jeopardy; it may be the only
rock-solid thing about the car. If you mean they will destroy the car's
originality, that might be argued. I still think the nasty grime does
nothing for the car's originality. After all, the water came in after
they buried it.

If Ultra One can clean it, stabilize it, and preserve what is left of
the car's originality - more power to them. I think it might be the
only opportunity for the sisters to experience some of the intended
windfall of the contest. The $600+ probably didn't cover the cost of
their trip. I don't know what arrangement they have with Ultra One, but
you can't blame the sisters for wanting a little something after winning
a big contest like that. We could talk all we want about how the car is
worth $XX,XXX as it sits, but just try to get somebody to pay that! As
it is, if they offered to sell it to me for $500, I would have to think
about it and get back to them.

..What a shame.

Destroying the car's provenance and historical value, for easy-money
from Ultra-One (a Division of Coddington Industries, Inc.)
