I spoke to the owner of the Lead East car. The Adventurer engine was added later, along with the badges.

 

As far as the car on ebay, I think that this is the case as well, especially since the 'Adventurer Powered' badges aren't even on the car.

There is a gorgeous white '59 Fireflite that goes to Lead East every year with Adventurer Powered badges,I've never seen under the hood though.
