[FWDLK] Manifold Destiny > 60-61 vs 63-64 413 ram setups

Yep, Larry, In 1963, the 300-J came standard with the 390HP 413 with rams similar in appearance to the 60-61 rams - one main difference being the internal runners were only 15" in 1963 & 64 rather than 30" on the earlier rams, giving the ram effect at a higher RPM.

Externally, the two intake types - the "long" long rams (60/61) can be told from the "short" long rams (63/64) from a flat spot cast into the top of the rams, so it looks like one double-wide flat tube that divides - the later type has the appearance of two separate tubes along the entire length of the casting.  Otherwise, they are dimensionally the same.

The same setup was available only as an option on the 300-K, same horsepower rating.  In both 63 & 64, the cars also came equipped with long, heavy cast iron four-branch headers with four-bolt downpipe flanges.

The 60-61 setup has special cast-iron exhaust manifolds also, as you may know, but they have a similar configuration to the standard log-type on regular 413s, except they have that provision for the cast iron heat riser elbow.  The heat risers on the 63-64s are steel tubes with welded-on 2-bolt flanges at its ends.

Was there a ram induction on 63-64 letter cars? If so, what engine? Factory option or dealer option? Long rams or max wedge style cross ram like on b-bodies?
Thanks,

I'm trying to identify this brake booster I saw for sale - the seller says it's a for a 1957 Mopar application. From its appearance, it looks to me like the remote booster that's mounted under the front fender as used on the 1963 & 1964 ram-inducted 300 letter-series cars.

It is Mopar part number 1818530

I have a pic, but I believe it will be deleted if I try to send it to the lists in this e-mail - I'll try anyways -

NOS Mopar 1957 Chrysler prod P/Brake Booster # 1818530
