My 25 year old Remington 8:00 X14 WWW 4 ply polyester looked great and held air good, but when driving we went where they wanted to go not always where I wanted to go. they were very hard by that time

What you need to know is that many of us have tires on our cars that were made BEFORE this info was used.
Some tires are 15-20 years old, look good but OLD.

On the back of each DOT approved tire there is a small oval with 4 digits in it ,the first digits are the week of the year the second two are the year. 2099 would be the 20th week of 1999. My tire guy won't touch a tire more than 7 years old.
