Re: [FWDLK] Shallow Hal---what did gas cost in 2001?

The cheapest here in Olympia, WA is $4.05 at Costco and $4.09 at some AMPM's,  but if you get up towards Seattle it can be as high as $4.50...
Did I mention that WA already has one of the highest gas taxes in the country?

Not only is ethanol bad for milage but it eats fuel lines from the inside out and destroys the elements in fuel filters, eats the seals in carbs, causes preignition and ultimatly burns valves. Cars without hardened seats ar espicially prone to early failure but even with the hardened seats the ehtanol causes internal damage.

In Mena, AR it's $3.77 at the Murphy's station at WalMart. Higher most
other stations. Changes up/down daily. They just put the ethanol
stickers on the pumps, so there goes the milage down. Friends are
saying that they're having trouble with their small engines on ethanol
gas.

You do not live in NY we get extra taxes added on to everyting.
Diesel here is about 5.39 and our gas runs about 4.32 for unleaded up
to 4.59 for premium.

No need to go that far back. Dec 2004, Diesel was $1.41 and now it's
$4.85 (which is cheap compared to the rest of the country) I gotta
carry $200 with me just to fill up the tank.
