Re: [FWDLK] Power brake vacuum hose

There actually -is- special hose, specifically for vacuum use.  I picked it up a rather large size for my Plymouth when I redid the power brakes.  I believe it came from NAPA.  I think it is called “evaporative control system hose” if I recall correctly.

Subject: [FWDLK] Power brake vacuum hose

I installed some factory power brake setup in my 56 Plym.

What kind of hose are you guys using. I wound up putting my vacuum can on the passenger fender, so I have a long hose running from the booster to the vacuum can. All I had on hand was heater hose, so I used that, but it's collapsing under vaccuum.

I'm thinking I need maybe power steering return hose is reinforced for suction ?? I'm not sure if it comes in 1/2 or 5/8. I remember when I needs a return hose for power steering I think I ordered one for a 67 polara or something like that.

Anyone with any words of wisdom ?

Thanks,

Nick
