Re: [FWDLK] PB upgrade 56 Dodge

I did a PB "upgrade" on my '55 DeSoto; not sure if it was really much of an upgrade.  In that case the non-PB was different and the entire unit had to be swapped.  '55 was a different one year only PB unit though.  In '56 the pedal on PB cars is closer to the floor than the non-PB cars.

I believe that the brake pedal assemblies should interchange between Dodge and Plymouth.

It really isn't that daunting to just strip the brake pedal assembly off down to the firewall and replace everything.

Have you tried Wildcat wrecking in Sandy, Oregon?  MoPar only and they have several '56 Dodges and Plymouths.  They're not cheap but they're good folks, a family operation.

Subject: [FWDLK] PB upgrade 56 Dodge

As many of you know I am swapping in a Power Brake system into a 56 Dodge and am wondering if the brackets for the brake pedal under the dash are the same for "non" PB cars as PB cars?
And do those brackets swap between PB cars from Chrysler, Plymouth or Desoto, and Dodge or are they all different for each car?
I see they look different between bellows type booster and internal types.....
Anyone do a PB upgrade in a 56 Dodge??
