Hi: I left my master cylinder raw so to speak. After thourghly degreasing it, I painted it a grey color as it would look as bare metal. There is a spray can of stuff designed to do that, but can't remember the name. The cover of the master cylinder, screw and booster brake metal parts were plated with zink chromate which produced a nice yellow color.
