Re: [FWDLK] Happy Thansgiving

Very well stated Bryan. Nothing makes you realize more what we have is when you go on a mission trip.

Perhaps we should be thankful for what we don't  have!!!

Subject: [FWDLK] Happy Thansgiving

Last year I took a trip to Kenya, which left a permanent stamp on my spirit, heart and mind.  The vast majority of people there live in dirt floor huts and shacks.  Water is a luxury and toilets consist of a hole in the wood floor of an outhouse (there's not even a seat and certainly no TP).  Yet, these people are the most thankful, joyful, generous people you ever want to meet.  If you were to enter their home and they had only one piece of fruit for the family they'd give it to you.  They sleep on mats that are laid on the floor.  I can't go to bed at night, looking at my comfortable queen sized bed, attached bathroom with all the amenities, and my beautiful wife laying down without realizing the tremendous amount of blessing God has chosen to give me.  As you give thanks today, please remember to thank Him for the simple things we take for granted every day - freedom, water and electricity we have at our command, our jobs, cars, a pantry full of snacks and luxuries (remember those who scrounge to get one meal a day, when we can indulge at will), the ability to go replace something when we run out, the list goes on.  That's not to say we need to feel guilty about our riches, just appreciative!
