Re: [FWDLK] steve anastos

The distributor is a modern one (look at the vacuum advance) , the carbs are newer AFBs (too many vacuum plugs),the air cleaner bases are too tall (repro's?), the engine is the wrong color, the return spring attached to the temp sender???, this can go on and on. I never pick on anyone's car on here but after his rudeness to Jimmy Rawa he deserves it. I think my HEMI FURY is more correct than this one. (it is pretty, but once again too much BS in the description and not enough facts about the car).

Maybe $60K doesn't buy what it used to, but for my $60,000.00, I'd appreciate knowing
a little bit more about this car's original condition, and what was done to bring it to its
present physical condition.

As I'm no PLY expert, I'm wondering about the following things that I see on/about this car.

Could it have had a Poly engine, originally? Is/are there any numbers on the car which would
confirm its OEM engine (notwithstanding its Broadcast Sheet &/or IBM card)?

I don't know whether the AFB(?) carbs are OEM, but, the fuel lines definitely look to be
modern/recent bendings, and not the casual OEM appearance.

The tan colored distributor cap and modern hose clamps are small items, I suppose.

Is the upholstery-stitching OK, with its tuck-and-rolled appearance?

The color of the upholstery is coded on the P/T plate, but the seller does not provide us with its image.

Did 58 Plymouths receive gold colored engines?

What was/were the car's OEM color(s)? I doubt that it was red/white, but dunno.

The two-tone paint-line, on the A-pillar, doesn't appear to be correct. Sometimes a painter,
who is not familiar with FWDLK 2-tone schemes, will mis-apply the second color, which
may have happened with this car.

If anyone prefers, he can PM me with his observations on this car, but these items I am curious
about.

Thanks,
