Re: [FWDLK] 1955 Poly interchange

So the '55 301 spitfire will take all the 331 hemi parts, intake, water pump fuel pump pulleys and such? Like from Hot heads ect. The reason I ask is there is a very nice '55 Windsor 2 door HT on eBay right now priced fair that has the 301. No PS or PB BUT I have both complete PS and PB set ups in my shop...

Chrysler's 1955 301-cid poly shares parts only with 1951-58 Chrysler
hemi/poly engines.  They are different from Dodge, DeSoto and Plymouth
poly/hemi engines of the 1950's.    The Chrysler 301 was basically a small
bore 331 - both had a 3.625" stroke, but the 331 had a 3.81" bore with the
301 having a 3.625" bore.

When it comes to manifolds and heads, nothing interchanges between Chrysler,
DeSoto, Dodge and Plymouth engines as the bore centres are all different.
The Dodge engines had the smallest bore centre (the distance from the centre
of one bore to the next), followed by DeSoto, Chrysler and then Plymouth (or
A block).

The Plymouth 301 has a 3.91" bore with a 3.125" stroke, a true over-square
engine (bore bigger than the stroke).

Hello all.. On the 1955 Chrysler 301 Poly,(spitfire?) what interchanged with
that motor in terms of speed equipment, intake cam water, fuel pumps and so
on? Are they the same as the Plymouth and Dodge polys? Dose it share
anything with the Plymouth 301/318 poly?
