Re: [FWDLK] From Old Cars Weekly: Delightful, Dependable, De Soto

Richard Rowlands PM'ed me with a couple photos of Richard Carpenter's 59 Adventurer's roof area, which certainly does have a 'textured' finish to it, even though its appearance resembles that of a badly
faded and cracked/crazed laquer paintjob.

Yeah; try explaining THAT O.E.M. feature to Joe-the-Chubbie guy, at some show venue.

"Dude, what happened to your car's ROOF paint??"

Thanks, Richard.

According to my Standard Catalog of American cars, the 1959 DeSoto Adventurer 2 door hard top did have simulated Scotch-grain leather finish for the roof.

This car may be all-original, but I didn't know that 1959 Adventurers
had 'textured' roofs on them, as this
article so states.

Erb probably never thought he'd still be with the love of his life and
the 1959 De Soto Adventurer two-door hardtop she drove when they were
dating, but luck has been on his side. Even luckier, his wife and the
car remain as good as they were when Galen met them in 1961.
