Re: [FWDLK] Cork Gaskets

I bought some years ago for my 57, a tappet cover gasket, and valve covers. I soaked them in something (too many years ago) as they had "shrunk" somewhat.

Subject: [FWDLK] Cork Gaskets

What is the useful life of new old cork gaskets?  Gaskets from the 40' and 50's.  Pan or valve cover gaskets.  If oiled can they be useful again if they appear brittle or are the just gone when brittle.  Any ideas on this???

Thank you in advance.
