Re: [FWDLK] How Long Does Paint Last ?

on a molecular level, as long as no constituents of the mixture are depleted, the paint will not "go bad"... nor will solvent-based or oil based paints freeze, only aqueous [water or ammonia based] paints will freeze- as in house paint/latex paints...

shake up old cans, as long as the base solids are suspended in the solvent after mixing, they will be fine. if the propellent has depleted, consider most or all of the solvent lost as well... toss the ones that dont spray!

I wonder that too how long are spray cans good for, what if they freeze? Dose the propellant keep them from freezing? And because they are air tight dose that make them viable for a long time? I have used old cans of spray paint that was years old and it went on fine..
I need to buy two cans of golden lion paint for a set of air cleaners that I want to look great so this topic is timely.
BTW one great tip I have used was to warm the spray can with water in a bucket and man what a difference in terms of going on smoothly.
