wonder that myself... were their horns internally different? more current/louder? - they look the same....... or was it just a cost cutting situation... my 58 firesweep has a relay- and thats basically just a dodge... though the desoto harness is prob the same between dodge/chry chassis desotos...

Why were senior 57-9 Mopars (Desoto, Chrysler, Imperial) built with horn and starter relays, while Plymouth and Dodge were not ?
