Re: [FWDLK] 57/58 headlite switch

i have found there are 4 variations of headlight switches on 57/8s.... and are aesthetically different in size, terminal configuration, as well as enclosed and exposed panel light rheostats.

the door handles- thats another "plant related" or supplier difference.... the width varies on 57-9.... some use a phillips head screw to adjust on a narrow linkage, there's a narrow link with a 3/8 head adj bolt, and a wide link with either 3/8 or 7/16 head 1/4-20 bolt... the other 3/8 head and phillips are coarse #10 thread.  perhaps for 59 they only used the wide, but it did appear earlier, i've had it on 57 and 8 4drht's and a sedan or 2.

They probably found a problem with the 57 and made a modification for the 58. From the outside, probably looks identical.

An example of this is the 57-8 vs. 59 exterior door handles and lock mechanisms. From the outside, they look identical. But for 59 they increased the width of the rachet linkage and also used a larger bolt to link the two pieces.
