Re: [FWDLK] cars and transport

I am certainly not offended by Bill's signature line.  I know Bill, and he was good enough to store a ForwardLook car for me for almost a year with no desire other than to help another Exner-fan secure another finned beauty for it's eventual resurrection.  A reference to a Bible verse is probably good for all of us, and I am sure it does not violate any rules for the ForwardLook list.  Nothing requires us to look up the referenced verse, and it does not make me cringe like some references to how a certain finned-beauty is going to be made into a "rat-rod" or is powered by a Chevy or Ford motor.

As that not-so-great Californian (sorry West-coasters) Rodney King once said:  "Can't we all just get along?"

By the way, I measured the snow on my cars outside, some of whose tops have disappeared lower than the snow on the hood and trunks, and northern Ohio is standing at 18-19 inches.  We should set a new all-time snow record by next week.  The promises of Global Warming go unfulfilled.  ;)

Well, Mr. Hopkins, and anyone else offended by my references to Bible verses,   I'm sorry your offended by it, , but I also don't see why I should remove it from my email signature which is the same email sig. that everyone I email sees, Whether it's here, or on Moparstyle, et al., and I must say, you're the first one who has made any complaint about it.  I know there's members on the mailing list who don't see things the way some others here do in reference to things of faith, etc., but don't see why it should be an issue either. It isn't for me.  I don't see how a bible verse constitutes a discussion of "religion".

I know and sometimes understand why some folks have no use for "religion" (you might be surprised to know I don't like "religion" either), but you should understand that your anger or disagreement isn't likely to get me to remove it, nor should I be expected to either.

When I see something that offends me, I look away or move from it, not make them remove it from me. When I hear something that offends me, I don't ask them to quit talking, or ask the radio/tv station to remove it, I go away from it or turn it elsewhere or off, and if I happen to read something I don't like, I don't ask them to not print it or remove it, I don't read it again or get in a position to not have to be exposed to it. If my reference to the Bible bothers you, I suggest you block me from your inbox, or easier, just don't read it or ignore it.

I don't see how it interferes w/the goings on with the Forward Look mailing list. It is the very last thing you should see on my responses or questions. The administrator  has never asked me to remove it.

I would hope you'd see my point, as I see and respect, but certainly don't agree with, yours. This is America, we can exercise or express our faith, as well as exercise our non-faith, I respect the views of all. And I would suggest you do also.

I just erased an anti-religious riposte to your adding the Corinthians bit to your message. I wrote in anger, got it off my chest and let it go.  Now I ask politely that you please consider that intruding religion or politics for that matter into Forward Look discussions is offensive and troubling to some members.

Thanks,

Henry Hopkins
