Well,  think along these lines,  are the rear switches closer to the 
driver??  If so, would these not be easier to reach in normal day to day 
usages?  Would make sense if the most used were closer to the hand that 
uses them.  Do you have to reach farther for the rear window switches 
which are the front switches??
