Re: [FWDLK] 58 D-500??

The 1958 Coronet had as its standard V/8 engine the carry-over 1957
325 c.i. Poly head motor (known as the "Red Ram") with a 2-bbl
carb, with 252 HP.

The Royal standard V/8 engine was also the carry-over 325 c.i. Poly
head motor, but with a 4-bbl carb (known as "Super Red Ram"); it
had 265 HP.

The Custom Royal's standard engine had the New-4-58 350 c.i.
B-block wedge-head motor (called "Ram Fire") which
had 295 HP.

The only optional V/8 engines on all three models were the
361 c.i. Single-4 Wedgie : "D500" engine (305 HP), and the 361 c.i.
dual-carbed "Super D500" (320 HP).

Of course, there was also the 333HP Fuelie, but less than 1000
of them were ever built, and they are rather rare finds, nowadays.

Am I not correct that the 58 D500 was a 325 Hemi (same as the 57)? And that in 59 the D500 sported a 383?? The car linked below is a 58 with a big block, not Hemi and says it is a D500.
