I've only used the California Car cover "Storm Guard", too, but,
I'm not going to debate the extent that H.'s clear coat might have
incurred "microscopic" scratching on it, as the result of the
car cover blowing in the wind and/or getting some minor dirt
underneath it, over the course of decades of using them, to
protect him.

His OEM windshield has remained remarkably sand-damage-free
(you get that, out West, via 'osmosis', it seems) from my trying-not
to drive him during any large windstorm events.
