that they close next to each other instead of on each other.

Second pic says: Here they are open. You can see from the black burn
marks on the armature that the lower point had been making contact over
to the side.


IF the miss-alignment can be corrected, there is plenty of life left in those contacts Providing the unseen surface of the moving contact arm is eroded a like amount as the fixed contact (unless those are distributor point) :-)
