[FWDLK] cooling problem update

Hello everybody,
First, I want to thank the people that took the time to send me advice or technical information on the cooling
problem I was having with my '55 Ply 6cyl. I took all your advice and recommendations seriously and I even printed out some of the technical information for future reference. I was amazed at how promptly I got help from this board and all you guys are super.
My problem was the sending unit which I had replaced three times and three times I was given the wrong one. This is the reason I stubbornly looked for other source of a problem and because of my lack of mechanical experience, I also failed to interpret some cooling issues.
I want to thank Jim Carpenter, a member of this board and from Collectors Auto Supply, for being kind enough to send me a new temperature sender free of charge.
I also want to share some information on a reproduction water distribution tube commonly sold on eBay. I purchased the tube to replace the pitted one in the block. As I was searching for the source of "engine overheating" I decided to remove the water tube which I had installed a month earlier. When I pulled the tube out it looked like it had been inside the motor for years. The coating completely disintegrated with the coolant and what was underneath was plain low grade roofing type of steel. Corrosion had already set in and the coating almost clogged up the end of the tube. I had included photos of the tube in my original message but was returned because it exceeded the limits. I had to redo this message again minus the photos.

Thanks again!
