[FWDLK] Speedometer cable replacement

On this auction site, the seller responded to my inquiry by
saying that the "replacement" speedometer-cable assembly
would be 83", compared to the OEM length of 73"

Does anyone have an OEM speedo cable lying around that he could
measure for me, to confirm the 73" length, and/or would anyone have any
experience in replacing the speedo cable assembly and/or in advising 
whether
an 83" 'replacement' cable would fit in OK ; the extra 10" cable length 
would not
appear to be an issue, to me....but, is it an issue?
