  Toluene, Xylene, or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) will make short work of oily surface contaminants.

  All are available at good paint supply houses.  I have them listed in order of volatility, but all will leave
no residue once the "oil" has been broken down and wiped away, leaving a super clean surface.

  They also make for delicious dessert toppings and huffing agents.  :-P
