Re: [FWDLK] HORN WIRING

Dick,

So, you are using a new additional relay to activate the factory horn relay?

If your horns are like mine, there are 2 connections.  Turns out that the second connection allows a jumper wire to be connected to a second horn.  As simple as that.

As an added thought I added a relay to the circuit.  The horn ring grounds the relay connection (a hot wire is connected to the hot side of the relay).  I then activate the horns using the relay instead of the horn ring .  This protects the horn ring from excessive arcing.

Without a wiring diagram, I see two choices. The body of the horn is ground and one of the connectors is power in and the other is power out to another other horn. or one of the connectors on the horn is power and the other is ground.

Using a battery, preferably not in the car,Ground the horn body on the Neg post, and using a jumper wire, momentarily touch each connection.
If it blows, you know how to wire it.
If it doesn't, hook a jumper from one terminal to ground and the other to power. You may have to reverse them.
Just touch the jumper contact momentarily.

Hi Y'all !!

I want to hook up an old 57 Dodge horn I have to one of my Magnums. Is there a special trick to it? The 57 horns have several connectors, my Magnums have one each.

Thoughts or ideas?
