A correction on that Roy. If a car is purchased in the USA to import to 
Canada, the US Customs want a 72 hour notice to make sure that the car is 
not stolen, etc  so there is NO Seizure involved.
Now if it's the other way around that a car from Canada is sold to someone 
in the USA. If the uS purchaser comes over in person to take the car 
purchased in Canada to the USA then it's a very simple process but it it 
goes across with a transporter or the actual seller then there is some 
involvement with having to use a broker for the paperwork.

You'll want to check with US and Canadian customs.  Cars going from USA to
Canada are seized by US Customs for 72 hours.  But the US counts on the
Canadians to alert them, which doesn't always happen.
