Re: [FWDLK] 58 plymouth number questions

I have pics of the painted part numbers on survivor 57/8 Plymouths and the actual serial numbers visible on a few... in the case of the 58 I most recently did the LP2L xXxX was on the drivers side descending outer half of the frame rail between the shock crossmember and snubber body mount. This server never allows pics...  I'd have to reference a few extra frames, a 57 and 58, to see what's left of numbers on those

Mischa - That number is a casting number, which may also be the same as the part number. The actual engine number is located on the block behind the power steering pump. It should be LP8xxxxxxx.

I'm not aware of Plymouth stamping or painting engine numbers on the frame. Even if they did, you would have to remove the body from the frame in order to see it.

Dear Forward-look-lovers,

Thanks for all the answers so far!

I forgot to mention the engine number, it is, as said, on the right; 5 - 1737929. It is a 318 V8. So if I read it right this number should match the number on the chassis (if it is still somewhere...)?

The car is definately a Belvedere, by the looks of it. I bought the car in this state, it was not restored by me. I think it is restored just the way it originaly was, and not to make it look like Christine. If that was the case, too many mistakes were made. To begin with the color red is the Toreador red, not the Royal red which Christine had. Also the interior, which has been completely renewed, is black and grey in the same pattern the Belvedere used to have. If it was restored to look like Christine they would have chosen red I guess.

Greetings,
Mischa
