Re: {Chrysler 300} 300K.

Similarly, I don't think I ever saw or heard of a Hurst with a V code six-pack/6-barrel option on the 440.  It looks like the 3-2 bbl configuration would also interfere with the A/C compressor unless you chopped up the really expensive air cleaner assembly a bit.
I did see a Hurst at Carlisle with Hemi heads years ago, but I couldn't tell if it was a 426 Hemi or a 440 that had been fitted with Hemi heads (or some kind of aftermarket head that looked like a Hemi)?  So long ago I can't remember if it had dual quads or a single 4 bbl.
I wondered if there was ever a real 66 300M at the time, if it might have been possible to get the 'new for 66' street Hemi, or if that was reserved for B body rockets, and the Chrysler would stick with the U code 375 HP 440?  Lots of crazy possibilities back in the day.

The auto pilot unit sits right were the left carburetor would be located. 1960-61 cars have the brake booster over the master cylinder. When they switched to the regular style booster behind the master cylinder in 1962, it would put the master cylinder in conflict with the carburetor.

Did they switch yours to be manual brakes? Or adapt the 300J/K ram remote brake booster?

while on this , I have a sport 62 convert , someone did a spectacular job putting 405 exact engine in it , with air   . Short  rans and headers
But car had auto pilot , cables are disconnected . Never thought about it but it looks like rams eliminate auto pilot ? same space ?  brake booster there too ..

The 4 speed was not available with the Ram option or with A/C.  Rear axle ratios may have been an issue.  The late Lynn Dunsworth modified his J with a '64 4 speed stick (it fit) and with the 3.23 rear it was nearly impossible to get a smooth clutch engagement with the short rams.  I rode with him in the car at our 2015 Macungie meet.  The J stick option (a 3 speed) used a 3.91 rear.  Maybe it was because of no torque converter with a stick, higher rear end ratio needed for torque multiplication with rams??

I thought the 4-speed wasn't available with the ram engine because the clutch linkage didn't fit with the cast iron headers.

While never a big fan of the styling compared to Forward Look years, I think 64 was the only year where it was possible to have a letter car with A/C, short crossrams, and a 4 speed with a convertible top?  ( I can't remember if the convertible F Special 4 speed was A/C or not, but it was certainly not readily available like the 300K)
