900 watts? That can't run long on a starting battery without an alternator keeping up with it (and a blower on high). Hot rod guys must run massive-output alternators. What say you Mr. Grady re; this? I think this is what Tesla does.

At a recent car show, I saw something I did not know about. A 55 Olds had an all-electric Sanden compressor mounted on the passenger side inner fender and powered by a relay (low current to switch higher current) to alleviate any mounting and belt routing issues on the front of the V-8. A built in electric motor on the Sanden ran very quietly, and the owner could turn on the A/C without running the engine of the car. Cool air out of the vents was very quick to appear. Interesting idea for adding A/C to any car with little fabrication of bracketry/belt alignment/tensioners etc. No clutch, either. No idea of the price on such a compressor though.

I have no idea why maybe someone knows. Auto-Pilot on ram definitely an issue as there is no room with ds carb and ram.Carl------ Original Message ------From "Nick Taylor" <nicksgaragesd@xxxxxxxxx>To "Carl Bilter" <cbilter@xxxxxxxxx>Cc "John Nowosacki" <jsnowosacki@xxxxxxxxx>; dplotkin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; "chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Date 7/1/2025 12:08:27 PMSubject Re: Re[2]: {Chrysler 300} 300K.For clarification, regular air conditioning was available with the ram engine option. It's dual air conditioning that wasn't available. Neither was the rear defogger. It seems that the knobs for those items go in the same spot that the choke knob goes and that is probably why. You could get dual a/c on 1960-61 ram cars so it isn't a plumbing problem.

The late Lynn Dunsworth modified his J with a '64 4 speed stick (it fit) and with the 3.23 rear it was nearly impossible to get a smooth clutch engagement with the short rams. I rode with him in the car at our 2015 Macungie meet. The J stick option (a 3 speed) used a 3.91 rear. Maybe it was because of no torque converter with a stick, higher rear end ratio needed for torque multiplication with rams??Carl B.------ Original Message ------From "Nick Taylor" <nicksgaragesd@xxxxxxxxx>To "John Nowosacki" <jsnowosacki@xxxxxxxxx>Cc dplotkin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; "Chrysler 300 Club International" <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Date 7/1/2025 10:38:37 AMSubject Re: {Chrysler 300} 300K.I thought the 4-speed wasn't available with the ram engine because the clutch linkage didn't fit with the cast iron headers.
