Greetings group-
  I have been finishing up the frame off project of a 60 Imperial Crown
2drht, and one of the items I found that almost every 59-63 Imperial I have
taken parts from for this car and for orders is they all have/had a small
filter screen in the return side of the pump where the hose clamps on the
pump. I have yet to find one on a similar year(s) Chrysler, Dodge or
Plymouth. I have put one in my K hardtop and have another ready for the
Convertible when it's time comes, as well as one for our "one of none" 64
300 wagon. Seems like it was/is a good idea and simple to put in and clean
out . Food for thought when out picking up parts for your letter cars or any
Mopar with that style pump.

Flushed the steering box as per The Parts Doc's recommendation, and indeed,
there was some clutter brought out.  Seems to me that there originally was a
mesh filter installed at the factory to preclude this stuff getting into the
pump.  Anybody know where we can get new ones?  Over the years probably very
few
of our cars still have them and they all should.         Your bro in
no-flow.
