As a further note to Jeff's comments, I've replaced manifolds metal to metal 
without gaskets on several B/RB engines over the years and never had a 
problem with leaking. I think as long as you are matching the same heads to 
manifolds you should be alright. If they leak, then use a good quality 
gasket.
