Re: [Chrysler300] Hurst gas gauge

The voice of recent experience here fooling with Hurst gas gauges. Our
ground was bad but it was the flat metal strap on the sending unit INSIDE
the tank. Pull out the sending unit and see if the rivet attaching the
strap has disintegrated. With luck, you can re-rivet the strap. Without
luck (our problem) we found a unit with good strap but different
configuration and cobbled the two units to make one.

This fix is better than spending $150 for a sending unit that must be
special ordered from Chrysler with no guarantee it is the correct unit.

If all else fails, figure 11 miles to the gallon, 25 gallon tank. Thirsty
generally flies low, so normal drivers can probably expect more mpg.
