[Chrysler300] My take on Fram Oil Filters

I have been using Fram (and Lee and Pennzoil and Mopar ) oil filters on my
Mopars since the 1970s. I have never had an oil related problem (that I knew of
 ).

When I started reading all the bad opinions on Fram Oil Filters, I
discontinued using them.

However, here is an observation that I made that may apply to our lettercars.

In my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 4.7 liter V8, using the correct
Fram Oil Filter, my oil pressure around town was about 35 psi and about 40
psi on the highway.

I have since changed the oil twice, first using a Purolator and then a Mopar
Oil Filter. My oil pressure has moved to 40 psi around town and 55 psi on
the highway.

After giving it much thought, the only explanation I could come up with was
that the Fram has too little material in the can causing the oil not to
readily pass through resulting in diminished circulation pressure.

Also, a friend of mine who is the Cummins Diesel (got one of these too)
specialist at a local Mopar dealer says that Chrysler looks harder at an oil
related failure on a Cummins if it has a Fram on it as opposed to a Mopar or the
Cummins filter from their maintenance line.

Any thoughts ??
