RE: [Chrysler300] Powder coating of Chrysler 300 frames.

The biggest problems I see with powder coating are the thickness issues and the ability to get the exact color and sheen you require. Anywhere you have threads or where clips are required seem to be problematic, and especially with small parts where tolerances are critical. As for frames, even though the finish doesn't usually look factory correct, it looks nicer than factory and will stand up over time in harsher conditions. Just my two Canadian cents.......Ryan Hill

I am wondering if any of the readers have any experience with powder coating of frames. What are the negatives of that process versus imron? I painted my '33 Plymouth frame with two coats of Imron 20 years ago and it still looks like new with no chips etc. But now it seems that the process of powder coating, which I have investigated, promises to provide more thorough coverage and equally strong or better adhesion. Any comments will be appreciated. Marv ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
