Re: [Chrysler300] 60-62 dash lights

Hi Mark -
The ignition key light has worked just as you described for all the '63s & '64s I've owned.
I imagine that Chrysler designed it to come on with the parking lights and of with the headlights.

Bob,

In this case I don't think your IQ will drop, but your grounding abilities will be realized if you come in contact with one of those pink wires from your power inverter for the other dash lights.

Something else I realized?a while ago?is that when I turn on my parking lights, the light at the ignition key lights up, but when I pull out to turn on the headlights, that key light goes out. Is that normal for all 60-62's?

Mark

I learned two things recently.

1) if you work under a dashboard your IQ immediately drops in half.

2) the lamps over the transmission buttons and the heater buttons are
connected to the dimming rheostat of the headlight switch.

I had a transmission push button lamp that did not light.
I found a broken lamp (#1816) and replaced it.
It still did not light.
Neither did the heater lamp.
The key switch lamp did light and that threw me off (see note 1).
Eventually I learned the key switch is not on the dimming circuit but the
transmission and heater lamps are. I removed the headlight switch and found
the dimming rheostat was toast.
A replacement switch solved the problem, although to replace the switch I
had to work under the dashboard again. I wonder, if you work under a
dashboard twice, does your IQ...........?
