As I understood it, FIRST you probably have the 'Town and Country' radio.
2 extra buttons - local - distance??  THEN the foot switch was an option on
the radio, extra, it was for the signal seeking function, so yups, if you
have a working windshield wiper circuit, and the footy for the radio, you could 
astound and amaze others by driving down the road, both hands on the wheel
at 10 and 2, and have the dung-guys go or the radio change stations with a 
'Look Ma, No Hands' exclamation!
