Re: [Chrysler300] 300 D Radio

Hi Bill and everyone else -

Not sure about the 58 Chrysler radio, but here's what I have on my original,
working 57 Chrysler Searchtune radio. I assume that most of this would apply
to the 58 as well.

The four prong 'female' outlet on the back of the radio is for a rear
speaker. If no rear speaker is attached, a jumper must be placed between the
upper right and upper left holes. There is a 5-prong 'female' outlet for the
Highway Hifi. This would be on a 57 only radio. If no Hifi is attached, a
jumper must be placed between the 7 o'clock and 11 o'clock holes. This would
be on a 57 only radio. Failure to include these jumpers will result in an
inoperable radio. I know this from personal experience.

There is an additional, single hole 'female' outlet used for the foot
switch.

There is an illustration of this on page 413 of the 57 Chrysler shop manual.

Ron
