Bob, Ron and all,..........concerning ready to use spray cans from Tower paints. (see below)
I didn't want to respond until I checked my pint of single stage ChromaOne can to see what the directions said. This single stage acrylic urethane paint requires the addition of activator and reducer. (Same for base color on 2 stage system). A such, there is a 2 to 3 hour life for the mixture.
This poses a problem if you should try to put it into a "spray can" system made and filled by someone like Tower Paints. You'll get a brick in a can!
I'll be the first to admit I am not a professional painter, but have painted parts (with another color) that required activator/hardener/reducer additions to the paint. There is a system that can be purchased where you get quality auto paint that has a glass jar to make your mixture and then attaches to an aerosol bomb enabling you to spray your special paints. Cost for the aerosol + jar is about $6 if I remember correctly.
Some of you I'm sure have used this do-it-yourself aerosol, but for those that have not, I hope this information helps gets those parts painted.
Perhaps Tower could mix and send non-aerosol cans, but then you would still need to get the DuPont activator and reducers also.

Ron and list,
This is an excellent idea. Having the formulation on file with Tower paints
makes it easy for anyone to order and there is no double handling of the
product. The right color would then be available now and in the future,
unless they go out of the paint business. I know I've ordered paint in
spray cans from Tower in the past, and didn't have any problem getting it
shipped, it was UPS ground if I remember right. The only down side I see is
that it probably could be had for less money on a per can basis if all made
at one time. I think the last time I ordered from them it was about $16.00
plus shipping for a large spray can, not too bad really.

Alternatively, if the club doesn't want to take on the project, we could
register the formula for the color with Tower Paint as 'Chrysler Dual Quad
Air Cleaner Gold' so that when someone needs a can mixed up for them, all
they would have to do is request this color.
