Jim,
The key must be on for the radio to operate. You must also let the radio?warm up before you get any noise out of it. It's got some tubes in it and it will take about 45 seconds to a minute for them to warm up.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Radio??
Hello club...I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I don't remember how it
was in my 62 Newport when I was 16. Anyway, when I bought my 62-H last fall,
the radio didn't work. Does the radio need the key on to work? I know my
power windows don't need the key to operate, but I don't remember about the
radio. I know someone out there knows.....
thanks

Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] Fluid for convertible top mechanism
I do know for sure that petroleum based anything in a hydraulic brake system
that is designed for DOT 3 fluid is disasterous. DOT 4 can be used in place of
DOT 3 but is mostly used in European cars and has higher temp specs than does
DOT 3.
I just replaced all the rubber pieces in a three ton truck that had dump bed
hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic brake system. Cost to reverse that little
mistake cost the upfitter a back charge close to 6K. Anything petroleum based
does not belong anywhere near a hydraulic brake system and it would seem
reasonable to me to extend that thinking to a top mechanism also.
